John Lane

John Lane is an Emmy Award–winning visual storyteller with over three decades of experience in news, sports, healthcare, military, media relations, nonprofit, and higher education. He creates artful, impactful video content under deadline and adapts quickly to diverse subjects and production demands.

At The University of Texas at Arlington, John served as Assistant Director for Multimedia, producing journalistic, documentary, and multimedia content for video, web, social media, and external outlets that showcased UTA's research, innovation, and achievements.

Previously, John spent 16 years as a Senior Photojournalist at WFAA-TV in Dallas, covering major national and international events including the September 11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the funeral of Pope John Paul II, John Glenn's return to space, and the Branch Davidian standoff near Waco, Texas.

John is highly skilled in non-linear editing across multiple platforms and thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. He values collaboration, clear communication, and problem-solving, and is driven by the chance to meet new people and learn something new every day.
